The Lament of Cain.

I gathered the finest fruits for you from the bounty of the earth and made an offering unto you, but you rejected my gifts and abandoned me in the desert because you required a sacrifice of blood for the remmission of sins. What have I done to offend you? Why must you crave the blood of the innocent? Why does the firstborn have to die? Why do you smite me? You have exiled me from my homeland and driven me into barren and rocky land so that your chosen people can graze their sheep in the fertile valleys...You lead them beside the still waters but I beg outside the gates of the garden with an empty cup and outstretched hands. You have persecuted and exiled my people. You have driven us from our homelands with the might of your hands and chased us when we escaped into the hills. You have imprisoned and enslaved my people forcing them to serve in your kingdoms with shackles on their hands and feet.
You claim ownership over the land and parcel it out among your chosen people. commanding them to kill and plunder and destroy in your name. Cursed be your name among men Oh Lord of the locusts! May your temples crumble to the dust from whence they came! this knee will not bow! I will stand, in the garden, naked and unashamed with my fist raised in defiance. This knee will not bow! My tongue will confess allegience to no God and no man will be my master! Wake up you sleepers and beat your plowshares into swords. We will be oppressed and scorned no more. Arise, the day has come, Prepare yourselves for war!
